💡 You can edit by platform to adapt content to each platform's limits.

Considerations

  • On X, links always use 23 characters of the total limit, no matter how long the URL is.

  • If you have any Premium plan on X, you can publish with the same character limits allowed natively. After you activate Premium, X may take up to 24 hours to reflect the account update in the platform.

  • When posting directly on a platform, the character limit may be higher. This happens because API limits are often stricter than native posting limits.

Some emojis, special characters, links, or Unicode combinations may not be counted exactly the same way by the planner counter and the social network. A post can exceed the platform's real text limit even if the counter still looks valid. This happens more often when the text is very close to the limit. If it happens, shorten the copy and try again. On Instagram, the rejection may appear as a generic unknown error.

An API is the access one application gives another application so they can interact with features and data.
