How to Create and Edit a SmartLink

This article explains how to create a SmartLink, configure each section, and preview the final result before sharing it.

From the top menu, go to SmartLinks and follow these steps:

  1. Click Create SmartLink.

  2. Enter the link name in the URL field.

  • It will be generated with a domain. You only need to customize the final part.

The URL can contain letters, numbers, hyphens, and underscores. It cannot begin or end with a hyphen.

  1. Click Save.

The SmartLink is created and the editor opens automatically so you can configure the content.

You can edit your SmartLink from the available tabs.

Remember to click Save when you finish making changes.

  1. General
    In the General tab, you can update these settings:

Name

  • Edit the internal SmartLink name.

  • This name is visible in the SmartLinks list.

Link

  • Edit the URL while keeping the restrictions above in mind.

  • View the public SmartLink URL.

  • Copy the link with the Copy button.

You must add this link manually to your Instagram bio or anywhere else you want to use it.

  1. Header

Configure the top section of the SmartLink:

  • Image: optional. You can upload an image or use your brand logo. Horizontal logos are also supported. Recommended aspect ratio: between 1:1 and 2:1. The image resizes automatically.

  • Content: add a title and subtitle.

  1. Buttons

You can add up to 100 buttons to send visitors to different links. You can also add sections to organize the content.

Available options:

  • Set text, color, background, and border.

  • Add the destination URL.

  • Disable, clone, or delete buttons.

  • Drag and drop to reorder them.

  1. Icons

Add social media icons to send visitors directly to your profiles. Enter the URL for each social network.

  1. Media

You can include clickable media files, such as photos and videos, that open a specific URL.

  • Upload files from your Instagram account or your computer.

  • Each SmartLink supports up to 50 files. If you add more, only the 50 most recent files are shown.

  • Drag and drop files to reorder them.

The Add from Instagram option only shows the latest 50 posts.

  1. Appearance

Customize the SmartLink design by choosing a predefined theme or setting it up manually:

  • Text and background colors

  • Typography

  • Button styles

  • Icon position

  • Spacing

  • Image appearance and featured image

Real-time preview

All changes appear in real time in the preview panel on the right.

If you want to see how it looks in a browser, click View live. This button is only available after the SmartLink has been created and published.
