UTM Builder while planning your content
This article explains how to build UTM links while creating a post so you can track traffic sources more accurately.
UTMs
UTMs, or Urchin Tracking Modules, are parameters added to the end of a URL to track the traffic source of each visit.
UTMs are usually analyzed in Google Analytics or other web analytics tools. When someone clicks a link with UTM parameters, those values are sent to the analytics tool so you can see which source, medium, or campaign the traffic came from. This makes it easier to measure campaign performance and optimize results.
With the platform, you can generate a UTM link while planning your content.
How to create UTM parameters from the planner
Go to the Planning section in the main menu.
Click Create new post. A new window will open with all the options to create your post.
UTMs cannot be applied to Instagram Stories.
In the bottom options bar, click the link icon.
Parameters to create a UTM link
Required
Website URL: The link where you want to send users.
Source: The source sending traffic to the landing page, for example Facebook, an email, a third-party tweet, or a blog post.
Medium: The medium where the link appears, such as email or banner.
Campaign name: Add a name so you can quickly identify the campaign and measure its impact.
Optional
Search term: Mainly used to identify keywords, for example in PPC ads.
Content: If several campaigns point to the same URL, this parameter helps you tell them apart.
Click Save.
If you do not want to display the full link, you can activate the shortener in global settings. The link will then be shortened when the post is published.
Edit the UTM link
You can edit the link before publishing in two ways:
Directly in the created UTM link in the text field.
Click the link and then the UTM icon.
