Connections

Social networks have been disconnected

This article explains why social accounts disconnect and how to reconnect them so syncing and publishing work again.

Disconnection notification

Sometimes social networks revoke app permissions, which disconnects your accounts. When this happens, you will receive an email asking you to reconnect.

If the same account or page is connected in more than one brand, you will receive one notification for each brand.

In shared brands, users with management permission also receive this notification.

How to reconnect

  1. Open the connections dashboard.

  2. Click Connect. A pop-up window for the social network will appear.

  3. Log in with the account credentials, or click continue if you are already logged in.

Once reconnected, the data sync starts again automatically.

If the account is still connected but you need to reconnect it, see How to refresh your social media connection.

Common disconnection reasons

  • You changed your Facebook or Instagram password.

  • Instagram detected a suspicious login attempt, such as a login from a new location.

  • You revoked app permissions from your profile, so the connection lost access.

  • Facebook detected a security issue on your account.

  • Facebook detected spam-like behavior, such as posting too frequently or repeating the same content.

  • Your LinkedIn connection expired after about two months, which is normal.
